Southwest Colorado Sector Partnerships
Sector partnerships are partnerships of business leaders, from the same industry and in a shared labor market region, who work with education, workforce agencies, economic associations, and community organizations to address numerous areas of need in workforce development and other key issues related to community and economic development.

SWCEC and Sector Partnerships
The Colorado Workforce Development Council (CWDC) has awarded the Pagosa Springs Chamber of Commerce a grant to hire a regional sector partnership Convener to add capacity and increase the effectiveness of industry engagement through the Next Generation Sector Partnership model. The Pagosa Springs Chamber of Commerce partnered with SWCEC to implement this program for our region.
In Southwest Colorado or the Region 9 Economic Development District, the Southwest Colorado Education Collaborative (SWCEC) is focused on improving the future of the region's workforce. The mission “...to strengthen diverse communities by providing pathways in career readiness and higher education for students to build 21st century skills and economically viable futures” aligns well with many of the workforce goals of Sector Partnerships.
The Sector Convener position for Southwest Colorado is housed under the umbrella of SWCEC and works closely with the SWCEC team to develop, promote and implement numerous initiatives related to regional pathways into the workforce.
